Meet the Spicy Thai Guy
Hey, I’m Grid, a Thai-American born and raised in Southern California, and proud to carry on a fiery family tradition that my Yai (Thai for maternal grandmother) introduced to us. A tradition that she refined back in the Thai countryside.
She was the true Spicy Thai OG. I’ll never forget her being out in the backyard, dry-roasting Thai chilies in a smoking hot pan and grinding them by hand in her mortar and pestle. Smoke rising, eyes watering, coughing her lungs out while cursing our names for the trouble we put her through.
But she never stopped. She would just keep at it. That’s how you know it was made with the secret ingredient: LOVE ♥
As a teenager, Yai and my parents taught me the craft. Not just how to roast chilies — but how to respect them. How to unlock bold, smoky flavor without losing the heat. How to make chili flakes that punch through bland food and bring dishes to life.
Now I’m proud to share that same tradition with you.

Scaling With Growth: As we expand into more kitchens and retail shelves, our impact will scale too. Over the course of the coming year, “Spice It Forward” will begin to operate as a structured program with measurable contributions (e.g., “100 bottles = 10 meals donated”).
